Tao Tsuchiya cast as lead in new TBS drama “Cheer Dance”

Tao Tsuchiya has apparently jump-started the new year with interesting projects, and this time she’s going to cheer us up in a new drama series!

Tao Tsuchiya is cast in the upcoming TBS drama series “Cheer Dance”–a drama series is inspired by the real-life story of cheer dance club “Jets” which was recently turned into movie entitled “Let’s Go, Jets” starring Suzu Hirose

“Cheer Dance” is about the story of  Saki, played by Tao Tsuchiya, a 2nd grade high school student in Fukui Prefecture who grew up admiring the cheer dance club JETS and dreamed of joining the team. 

The new TBS drama series “Cheer Dance” will air on July, 2018.

Masahiro Higashide, Arata Mackenyu in newly released teaser posters for upcoming movie “Over Drive”

The newly released teaser posters for upcoming film “Over Drive” features two of the most sought after young actors in Japan –Masahiro Higashide and Arata Mackenyu.

The actors portray as talented young drivers who are hoping to advance to the World Rally Championship. Masahiro Higashide plays the role of Atsuhiro Hiyama, the chief mechanic and an engineer at a racing factory. Arata Mackenyu portrays the role of Naozumi, Asuhiro’s younger brother and an extremely gifted driver.

“Over Drive” is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and will be released in theaters on June 1, 2018 in Japan.

TBS 2016 drama ‘Nigeru wa haji daga yaku ni tatsu’ will be re-broadcasted on New Year’s Eve

Drama fans, here’s something you might want to binge watch before welcoming 2018!

TBS 2016 drama “Nigeru wa haji daga yaku ni tatsu” starring Aragaki Yui and Hoshino Gen will be highlighting our New Year as the TV network announced to have the drama re-broadcasted.

First three episodes will be aired starting at 8.55am to 11.45am on December 31 while episodes 4 to 8 will be airing at 11.55am to 4.30pm, same day.

The rest of the episodes will be shown the next day at 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

TBS decided to have the rerun due to high volume of requests from viewers.


Mitsuki Takahata cast in new live-action drama special “Boukyaku no Sachiko: A Meal Makes Her Forget”

Kahoko is back in a new live action drama special!

Mitsuki Takahata is cast in TV Tokyo live-action drama special “Boukyaku no Sachiko: A Meal Makes Her Forget.” which is based on manga “Boukyaku no Sachiko” by Jun Abe and directed by Santa Yamagishi.

The actress will play the main character Sachiko Sasaki, who found out that her fiance disappears the very day of her wedding. The next day, Sachiko Sasaki is unable to stop thinking about her fiance except when she gets a meal at a restaurant. She then becomes a fan of gourmet meals.


“Boukyaku no Sachiko: A Meal Makes Her Forget” airs January 2, 2018 in Japan.

“Rainbow Days” is based on manga “Nijiiro Deizu” by Minami Mizuno and centers on a group of four male high school students who are close friends: Natsuki, Tomoya, Keiichi, and Tsuyoshi. The four boys have no club activities, and they hurry through their studies so they can spend their days having fun. Their main topic of interest: love. Natsuki has an unrequited crush on Anna, a girl from another class, and his friends keep meddling in their relationship.
Actors Reo Sano, Taishi Nakagawa, Mahiro Takasugi and Ryusei Yokohama are leads in this new live action film and is directed by Ken Iizuka.

Teaser poster for upcoming Yamaken film, “A Forest of Wool and Steel”

The first teaser poster for the upcoming film “A Forest of Wool and Steel” starring Kento Yamazaki has already been released!

The movie follows a story of a high school student in a small Hokkaido village named Naoki Tomura (Kento Yamazaki). He tries to become a piano tuner himself after hearing Soichiro Itadori (Tomokazu Miura) tune the piano at his high school.  After becoming interested in piano tuning, he makes sure his life changes along his new found interest. 

The film is based on the original novel “Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori” by Natsu Miyashita, and directed by Kojiro Hashimoto.


“A Forest of Wool and Steel” will be released June 8, 2018 in Japan.

“My Little Monster” is based on manga series “Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun” by Robico.

The film is about Haru Yoshida (Masaki Suda), a high school student who is viewed as a introverted child with an unpredictable behavior. Shizuku Mizutani (Tao Tsuchiya) is a high school studious student. Haru Yoshida and Shizuku Mizutani sit next to each other in a classroom. A small thing causes Haru Yoshida to have feelings for Shizuku and then confesses his feelings towards her.

The film is directed by Sho Tsukikawa.

Mackenyu Arata joined Kento Yamazaki in NTV drama series “Kiss that Kills”

Who would have thought that this bromance is extending from one casting/project to another? Mackenyu Arata has joined Kento Yamazaki yet again in the NTV drama series “Kiss that Kills” with Mugi Kadowaki.

Mackenyu will play the major supporting character, Takauji Namiki, the son of a CEO and he is a figure who holds a key to the story.

Mackenyu’s character is in conflict with Otaro Dojima (Kento Yamazaki) in the story.

Haru Kuroki, Shuhei Nomura as leads in new film “Biburia Koshodo no Jiken Techo”

Actors Haru Kuroki and Shuhei Nomura starred in the upcoming film “Biburia Koshodo no Jiken Techo.”

Haru Kuroki plays Shioriko Shinokawa, an introvert, but her knowledge is expansive and she can’t stop talking about her interests. Shuhei Nomura will play Daisuke Goura, a clerk at the bookstore owned by Shioriko Shinokawa.

The movie is based on the novel series “Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techou” novels written by En Mikami. Similarly, the 2013 Fuji TV drama series “Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia’s Case Files,” starring Ayame Gouriki and Akira, is also based on the same novel series.

Movie is directed by Yukiko Mishima and will be released in 2018 in Japan.
