Takeru Satoh and Gou Ayano are starring in the upcoming live-action film “Ajin”. Satoh and Ayano will play immortal demi-humans and will show off tight gripping action scenes in the film’s latest teaser.

The live action film is based on Gamon Sakurai’s manga, “Ajin: Demi-Human” which was first appeared and serialized in the magazine “Good! Afternoon” back in 2012. The manga was recorded to have released 10 volumes and acquired more than 5.4 million copies sold.

The movie is set in the present-day Tokyo and follows a medical intern named Kei Nagai (Takeru Satoh), who discovers that he is an immortal “Ajin” when hit by a truck. As “Ajins” are considered dangerous beings, they pose a threat to the government. While they claim to help “Ajins” live in a safe environment, the government is actually using them as subjects for cruel and inhumane experimentation. As a result, escaped “Ajins” are bent on retaliation, with the exception of Kei, who doesn’t want to take part on the Ajin conflict. Satou (Gou Ayano), known by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare as the most dangerous “Ajin”, plays the antagonist and member of an “Ajin” terrorist group that wants to befriend Kei.

The film also cast Tetsuji Tamayama as Yuu Tosaki, Rina Kawaei as Izumi Shimomura, Minami Hamabe as Eriko Nagai, Yuu Shirota as Koji Tanaka, Yudai Chiba as Okuyama and Yuki Yamada as Takahashi.

“Ajin” is directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro and reportedly has recruited the action filming team of the live-action Rurouni Kenshin films to work on the project. (ISN’T THAT SO NICE, EH?)

The film “Ajin” is slated to open in Japan on September 30.
